Privacy policy

What we collect

• Newsletter email address. If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed in our database. That is the only personal information the site asks for.
• Basic technical data. Our hosting provider processes standard server logs (IP address, browser type) to deliver pages and prevent abuse. We use short-lived, per-IP counters to rate-limit form submissions.
• Usage analytics.We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic: which pages are visited, roughly where from, and on what kind of device. This uses cookies and similar identifiers set by Google. We look at this data only in aggregate. You can block it with any standard ad/tracker blocker or Google's opt-out add-on, and the site works identically without it.
• Advertising. The site shows ads served by Google AdSense, which is how we pay for running it. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. See the next section for what that means and how to turn it off.
• CVs you upload on the jobs page.Only if you tick the box to agree: we store the file, the text we read from it, and the skills, job titles, years of experience and location we drew from it, in our database for 90 days. After that it is deleted automatically. We use it only to show you matching jobs. We never sell it, share it with employers or recruiters, or use it to train AI, and the matching runs on our own server without sending your CV to any outside service. You can delete it at any time with the “Delete it now” button on the jobs page, or by emailing us.
• Theme preference. Your light/dark choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage), never sent to us.

Advertising cookies and your choices

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
• If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your browsing. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before any personalised ads are shown.
• Ads never influence what we write or which layoffs we record. Advertisers cannot buy coverage, and our data and analysis are the same with or without them.

What we don't do

• No selling, renting, or sharing your email with anyone.
• No profiling: the resilience calculator runs entirely in your browser, and your answers are never transmitted to our servers. The CV matcher reads only a CV you choose to upload, and only to show you jobs.

Who processes data for us

Amazon Web Services (hosting), MongoDB Atlas (subscriber storage), Resend (email delivery), Google Analytics (aggregate usage statistics) and Google AdSense (advertising). Each processes data to provide their service to us; Google's handling of advertising data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Newsletter emails include our sending domain so replies reach a human.

Your rights

Every newsletter contains a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. For deletion of your email from our records, access to what we hold about you (it will be one row), or any other request, email info@workforcesignal.com and we'll act on it promptly.
